Have You Thanked a Rockville Business Lately?
November is a month to celebrate our local businesses – it’s National Entrepreneur Month, a time to recognize those entrepreneurs who serve our local community and help bolster our economy, and to remind them that we support their efforts to pursue new ways of doing things and creating innovative technologies and approaches to how we view our world.
At REDI, we work with entrepreneurs on a regular basis, helping to give them the support they need to expand and be the best that they can be.
November also kicks off the official “holiday shopping” season! The day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, is a great day to go out and support our local retailers and restaurants as you gear up for the upcoming holiday season.
There are plenty of retail areas throughout the City to help satisfy your ‘shopping fix’, from the Rockville Pike, to King Farm, to Fallsgrove and Rockville Town Square – and many more!
And don’t forget about the Rockville Rewards card – if you have one, you can get discounts as you shop, and they also make great gifts for friends and family!
On the heels of Black Friday, is Small Business Saturday – again, a day to support our local small business owners. According to the Small Business Administration, there are 23 million small businesses in the U.S., an increase of 49% since 1982. 54% of all U.S. sales happen at small businesses, and franchised small businesses employ roughly 8 million people – 40% of all American retail jobs.
It’s been said many times that small businesses are the backbone of our economy. At REDI we can provide them with as many resources as possible, but they also need the support of the consumer.
Let’s remember to support our local entrepreneurs and small business owners this holiday shopping season!
