REDI’s “Thankful For” Top 10
‘Tis the season to be grateful and to take stock of everything that makes Rockville such a great place to be thankful for. Here’s our Top 10 Reasons why we’re thankful for the City of Rockville:
10 – City Parks – the City has over 1,000 acres of parkland, with 33 active and 32 passive parks for residents, employees and visitors to enjoy year-round.
9 – Retail shopping options – from everything along Rockville Pike, to the shops in Town Center, there is a store for everyone.
8 – Glenview Mansion & F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre – located at the Rockville Civic Center Park, these facilities offer terrific venues for the visual and performing arts, and are beautiful rental facilities for holding a variety of events.
7 – Dawson’s Market – a local natural foods grocery store located in the heart of Rockville Town Square that not only offers fresh, organic food and drink at their location and through their catering services, but also consistently gives back to community through hosting events, a farmer’s market, cooking classes, art fairs, and much more!
6 – Rockville Rewards Cards through the Rockville Chamber of Commerce – what better way to support local charities while at the same time earning discounts at local stores, service providers and restaurants.
5 – Great restaurants – we could do another few lists on our Top 10 favorite restaurants, but let’s just say that the city has a plethora of great dining options for all palettes and all price ranges!
4 – Rankings highlighting why Rockville is so great, including: 10 local firms on the Inc. 5000 list; a Livability Top 10 Best Cities for Families and a Top 100 Best Places to Live; and MONEY Magazine #39 Best City to Live in America.
3 – Diversity of the City – racial diversity – 34% of the city’s population was born outside of the U.S.; employment diversity by industry – opportunity for jobs in cutting edge technology & bio firms to professional services to leisure and hospitality, there’s something from everyone; age diversity from Boomers to Millennials to every other generation.
2 – Rockville Town Square/Town Center – the heart of downtown Rockville offering great restaurants, Regal Cinemas, the fountain and the ice skating rink, the library, a hotel….and so much more!
1 – And finally, we are grateful for all the City’s great employers providing over 76,000 jobs in the City: our Rockville Legacy Club members who have been in business for 40+ years; local companies consistently ranked as Washington Business Journal Best Places to Work; and the new and existing companies expanding and adding jobs and leasing commercial space in the City every month.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who love to live, work and play in Rockville!
