REDI ED Awarded Re-Certification
Laurie Boyer, Executive Director of Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI), has been awarded re-certification by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). Ms. Boyer first achieved Certified Economic Developer designation in May 2006.
Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) recertification, required every three years, was awarded to Ms. Boyer who met demanding requirements for continuing education and service to the profession. With more than 14 years of economic development experience, she has also served as Past President of the Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA), is the MEDA Foundation Board Chair and the Greater Washington Board of Trade (BOT) Council of Economic Development Officials Chair, serves on the Rockville (MD) Chamber of Commerce Board and is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery.
The designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) is a highly recognized national recognition that denotes a mastery of principal skills in economic development, professional attainment and a commitment to professional growth. As a highly-skilled economic development practitioner, Ms. Boyer along with more than 1,000 other CEcD’s work with public officials, business leaders and community members to create and retain high-quality jobs, establish economic vibrancy, and improve quality of life for the people they serve.
“Professional development is important in any job, and maintaining my CEcD designation is a privilege,” said Laurie Boyer. She stated that she is always willing to help mentor others who are going through the process.
