Lurn Inc. Signs 10-Year Deal for 24,600 SF at 2098 Gaither Road

Moving from a co-working space into their own facility, Lurn Inc., is filling half of the building formerly occupied by the FDA until late 2015. When completed later this year, Lurn’s office will feature classroom space for on-site training and production capabilities for their online platforms.
The online educator provides a range of products and services to entrepreneurs including online training courses and live events. Its primary focus is on helping to build startup digital publishing businesses. Lurn currently has close to 10 employees, but anticipates hiring significantly once it takes occupancy of the Gaither Road facility.
Auctioneer Purchases 40 W Gude Drive Office Building for $6.2 Million

After operating out of downtown DC since its founding in 1890, Weschler’s Auctioneers & Appraisals is relocating to a 49,000 SF location in Rockville. The increasing density and traffic in DC led the company to consider options outside the Beltway, with the W. Gude Drive location providing easy access for their customers and cargo trucks.
Weschler’s will renovate the first level of the building into their auction house, which will host weekly events to sell a wide variety of items including art, coins, furniture, jewelry, rugs, and much more. The second floor will remain office space, which was vacated by Montgomery College in 2016. The family-owned company currently employs 15 people.
Guggenheim Partners Lease Additional 15,250 SF in King Farm

Adding to their presence at 805 King Farm Boulevard, the global investment and advisory firm signed a deal for 15,250 SF down the road at 702 King Farm Boulevard. The Guggenheim Partners’ deal helps the Class A building offset the previously-announced loss of Avendra to a neighboring development in early 2018.
Research Triangle Biotech Company Relocates into 7,132 SF

Attracted by the proximity to the National Cancer Institute and the region’s exceptional workforce, Mokobio is relocating its U.S. R&D Center from Durham, NC this month to 1445-1455 Research Boulevard in Rockville.
With a combined lab and office setup, the company will perform R&D on its early cancer detection technology and hire a sales team to support their growth.
Mokobio’s global headquarters is in Beijing.

Operators of retirement communities in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Ingleside Retirement Services moved to Rockville in close vicinity to its King Farm property, which is undergoing an expansion due to deliver in 2019/2020 named Gardenside.
With Ingleside’s move the 150,000 SF building is approaching the 90% occupancy mark with other major tenants including BrightView Landscaping Services, Chevo Consulting, and ExecuSuites I-270.
NIKA Relocates into 17,042 SF at 2000 Tower Oaks Boulevard

A global provider of an array of services, including architecture, engineering, and operations solutions, to governments and industries, NIKA signed a deal in January to relocate its headquarters from 451 Hungerford Drive to the Class-A building at 2000 Tower Oaks Boulevard. Along with the move, the company is expanding its footprint from 13,000 square feet.
NIKA has been located in Rockville since its founding in 1998 and employs approximately 70 people at its headquarters. The company recently won contracts for the Air Force Medical Support Agency, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Army Medical Command.
