Research Triangle Biotech Company Relocates into 7,132 SF

Attracted by the proximity to the National Cancer Institute and the region’s exceptional workforce, Mokobio is relocating its U.S. R&D Center from Durham, NC this month to 1445-1455 Research Boulevard in Rockville.
With a combined lab and office setup, the company will perform R&D on its early cancer detection technology and hire a sales team to support their growth.
Mokobio’s global headquarters is in Beijing.

Operators of retirement communities in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Ingleside Retirement Services moved to Rockville in close vicinity to its King Farm property, which is undergoing an expansion due to deliver in 2019/2020 named Gardenside.
With Ingleside’s move the 150,000 SF building is approaching the 90% occupancy mark with other major tenants including BrightView Landscaping Services, Chevo Consulting, and ExecuSuites I-270.

A global provider of an array of services, including architecture, engineering, and operations solutions, to governments and industries, NIKA signed a deal in January to relocate its headquarters from 451 Hungerford Drive to the Class-A building at 2000 Tower Oaks Boulevard. Along with the move, the company is expanding its footprint from 13,000 square feet.
NIKA has been located in Rockville since its founding in 1998 and employs approximately 70 people at its headquarters. The company recently won contracts for the Air Force Medical Support Agency, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Army Medical Command.

Avendra currently has 200+ employees in Rockville and expects to add 15 jobs within three years. The company plans to take occupancy in January 2018 after completing extensive renovations when Health & Human Services departs in 2017.
Cornerstone Montgomery Buys 31,857 SF Building at 2 Taft Court

Cornerstone Montgomery is a nonprofit organization that empowers more than 2,400 adults and transition aged youth living with mental health and substance abuse disorders to live, work, and integrate successfully within the community. With the purchase of 2 Taft Court, Cornerstone is able to combine various services in one facility, which will allow them to better serve their clients.
The organization expects to have nearly 80 employees at the facility, while also leasing 4,000 square feet to collaborative providers Interfaith Works and Community Clinic, Inc. For the renovation work, Cornerstone has hired Rockville-based HBW Group to complete nearly $1.75 million worth of improvements.
