1900 Chapman Avenue
Formerly the home to Syms, a discount clothing retailer, the site was cleared in January 2016 to make way for a two-phased residential development. The first phase includes 318 apartments and 5,152 SF of retail, while the second phase includes 61 four-story townhouses.
JLB Partners is currently constructing the first phase, while Winchester Homes expects to break ground on the second phase in spring 2017.
Brightview Rockville Town Center – 285 North Washington Street
Construction began in early 2016 on this 195-unit senior living community that will provide independent and assisted-living residences specializing in Alzheimer’s care. The ground floor will featured 6,568 square feet of retail while community amenities include a landscaped courtyard with public art installation and a rooftop garden.
Developed by Shelter Development Group, Brightview Rockville Town Center is expected to open in fall 2017.
The Metropolitan at Rockville Town Center – 255 North Washington Street
Construction began in February 2016 on The Metropolitan, which will continue the redevelopment of Rockville Town Center with a 6-story, 275-unit luxury apartment complex that includes 6,113 SF of retail on the ground level. The complex will offer residents a range of amenities including a fitness center with yoga room, pet grooming room, bike storage, outdoor courtyards, and a two-story entertainment lounge.
Developed by Kettler, The Metropolitan is expected to open in fall 2017.
Upper Rock District Retail – 5 Choke Cherry Road
Construction began in Sepetember 2016 on this final phase of the mixed-use development at Shady Grove Road, which will add 34,700 square feet of retail including a MOM’s Organic Market and CVS Pharmacy. Additional retail is expected to include a restaurant and service retail.
Developed by The JBG Companies, the retail is expected to open in mid-2017.
