2019 RCC Rockstars Announced

REDI is excited to congratulate the following companies and individuals on being named Rockville Chamber of Commerce Rockstars during its annual awards ceremony on November 7, 2019.

The Rockville Chamber of Commerce (RCC) “Rockstars” were treated to a red carpet event this year.  RCC honored five business categories:  Entrepreneur of the Year; Business of the Year; Non-profit of the Year; Citizen of the Year; and Young Professional of the Year.

Entrepreneur of the Year:
Michael Gottlieb, Momentum Law Group

The Entrepreneur of the Year award goes to a person who thinks outside the box, sets the bar high in terms of business growth and values the contributions of everyone within his company.  Michael Gottlieb is the founder and principal of Momentum Law Group and Momentum Shift, LLC, the first two of what he plans to be several more “Momentities” focused on serving the entrepreneur community!  Personally, Michael is active in both the Rockville & the broader Montgomery County communities, serving as the facilitator of the RCC’s CEO Roundtable and as a past board member of the Rockville Chamber and is general counsel to Leadership Montgomery. Michael also enjoys participating in an Entrepreneur Workgroup to help plan and guide the new center for entrepreneurship at the Universities at Shady Grove. Most recently, Michael was selected by Bethesda Magazine as one of the Top Business/Corporate Attorneys in Montgomery County.

Business of the Year:  Marstudio, Inc.

The Business of the Year Award recognizes a company that has been in business for at least five years and are active members of the Rockville Chamber of Commerce. Specific criteria include: unique marketing strategy and success, community involvement, and exceptional and informed customer service.  Shevy Shafie has chaired our Marketing Committee over the past year. He and Marstudio, Inc. founder Sam Rooeintan, along with the marketing committee, were instrumental in bringing together our new brand look and feel.  Marstudio, Inc. is an award-winning and experienced Corporate Branding & Strategic Marketing Firm in Rockville, Maryland. They offer a highly qualified and extremely diverse marketing department by formulating strategies that are scalable across any industry. They are a firm that believes of continuum of branding, meaning they work to keep all brands they touch consistent and impactful across all mediums

Non-profit of the Year:  Cornerstone Montgomery

The Nonprofit of the Year award recognizes outstanding practices among Rockville’s diverse non-profit community. The winner has proven success in creating a lasting and beneficial impact for all residents and setting a strong example for other non-profits in the community.  Cornerstone Montgomery, Inc. has empowered more than 2,400 adults and transition-age youth in 88 locations throughout Montgomery County who are living with severe mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders to live, work and be a part of the community. The agency’s primary aim is to keep people out of the emergency room, hospital or jail, and into consistent, effective treatment. Cornerstone Montgomery helps more than 600 people each year find, get and keep jobs through their vocational program.

Citizen of the Year:  Nancy Regelin, Shulman Rogers Law Firm

The Citizen of the Year award goes to a person with proven accomplishments both personally and professionally toward the betterment of the Rockville community. The recipient, who must reside or work in Rockville, has demonstrated leadership in improving the economic vitality of our community.  Nancy Regelin is a Real Estate Partner at Shulman Rogers, focusing on Land Use, Zoning, and Development Law. Since 1985, Nancy has supported scores of development projects that have shaped Rockville, and added significant boosts to the Rockville economy and tax base, including Regal Row, Upton I/Cambria Suites, Upton II, and Courthouse Square Park in Rockville Town Center, The Metropolitan on N. Washington and more.  Outside of law, Nancy has been one of the lead organizers of the Power Conference, a regional women’s business development conference, since its inception 10 years ago. Her commitment to helping women business owners extends further to her service on the Advisory Board for the Maryland Women’s Business Center, which she helped launch as a City Council appointed board member of its parent organization, Rockville Economic Development, Inc. At her core, Nancy is committed to a thriving Rockville and has had the honor of serving on the Board of the Rockville Chamber of Commerce since 1995 to help accomplish that mission.

Young Professional of the Year:  Brooke Bruch, Contemporaries, Inc.

The Young Professional of the Year award recognizes an individual who is a leader amongst their peers, who brings together rising business stars with a common goal of growing their personal and professional communities.  Brooke Bruch has been a driving force for good within the Rockville Community, and has provided an excellent example of what it means to be a successful Young Professional in today’s workforce. At Contemporaries, Inc., Brooke specializes in providing top-notch staffing support services to federal and private sector clients within the D.C. metro area for administrative, finance and IT positions.  Outside of Contemporaries, she serves on the RCC Board and Membership committee, is Vice President of the BNI Bethesda Business Chapter, President of the Maryland Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and Women Presidents’ Educational Organization. She is constantly helping others make strong business connections through her attendance at so many networking events and aims to help others succeed.

In addition to being a Rockville Chamber member, she is a member of the Maryland Black Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Montgomery, and serves on the boards of WorkSource Montgomery and the Council for Advocacy and Policy Solutions.  Lastly, we have the Manor Country Club to thank for hosting us.

Winners were selected from a field of 18 applicants and were chosen based on a range of qualifications including their business accomplishments and involvement in the Rockville community.  The Rockville Chamber of Commerce congratulates all the award winners and nominees and thanks them all for their continued dedication, support and work in the Rockville community.
