Every year in March, during Rockville’s Annual Business Appreciation Week (BAW), REDI, with a fantastic group of BAW Ambassadors, visits over 50 companies (from solopreneurs to large corporations) in Rockville.
During these visits, REDI learns about the business climate in Rockville including what help businesses may need from REDI, the City of Rockville, and other organizations. We also introduce them to resources and assistance to help them expand their businesses. Be sure to check out the photo gallery for previous BAWs.
REDI Resource Meetup (R2M) is a networking event that provides the opportunity for Rockville business owners to meet other Rockville business owners and learn more about available resources.
Some of our resource partners who attend include the Rockville Chamber of Commerce, the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development and the Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development.
At R2M, the Rockin’ in Rockville award is given to one of the many cool businesses in Rockville. Each year, one business is awarded for its community engagement, customer appreciation and workplace incentives throughout the year.
During the Commercial Broker Breakfast (B2B), brokers have an opportunity to network with other brokers and to hear speakers from the city senior staff and/or other partners. Brokers can also attend a mini-trade show which showcases local engineering firms, architectural firms and firms in other industries related to commercial real estate.
The annual StartRight! Women’s Business Plan Competition is open to businesses that are 51% or more women-owned. These businesses are located in Maryland and have been in operation for less than three years.
Sponsors can provide cash prizes and are recognized throughout the year in ads, flyers, news releases and at the awards program. Competitors are provided with valuable insight and visibility.
For more information, please visit the Maryland Women’s Business Center website. Make sure you check out last year’s event photos.
The annual BIO Conference draws more than 15,000 industry experts from 60 countries. REDI ensures a Rockville presence within the Maryland Pavilion, and facilitates Rockville company participation.
The Power Conference is designed to promote business development for women in business through networking, education and marketing opportunities.
This conference features a day-long expo where participants may meet authors, browse books, and network with one another. Lunch time key note addresses by energizing and interesting entrepreneurs, as well as the awarding of the StartRight! Business Plan Competition winner, highlight this popular event.
