Networking with a Purpose
When you think about networking events, what are some of the first thoughts that come to mind? Likely a combination of free food and drinks, connections to grow your business or career, awkward conversations that require effort to exit, and a new resource or product that you should learn more about.
While you might not mind missing one of those less than ideal conversations, networking events are a vital component of the business world as they are a relaxed setting to interact with potential clients and collaborators.
As summer winds down, REDI is gearing up to host two of its signature networking events: the REDI Resource Meetup (R2M) and Commercial Broker Breakfast (CBB). Each event features a mix of conventional networking with its own distinctive twist to enhance the experience for attendees.
Partners and Businesses That Rock
With limited time and energy to focus on a myriad of tasks, business owners and executives are looking for efficiency in their efforts. REDI looks to achieve this by bringing in our partner organizations to join R2M and provide a one-stop meetup for discovering resources available at the local, regional, and state level. Whether you’re an entrepreneur seeking help with starting a business or a thriving company seeking tools to expand your operations, the meetup is the right place to find the appropriate resources.
Beyond networking, R2M takes a moment to recognize Rockville businesses shaking up the local economy through its annual “Rockin’ in Rockville” award. During the event, REDI announces the winner of the award, who is chosen based on their success, community engagement, and innovative practices throughout the year.
Note: R2M is held as part of Economic Development Week in the State of Maryland. For information on events taking place around the State, please visit the website of the Maryland Economic Development Association.
Sign on the Dotted Line
While the commission from closing a major deal is nice, REDI is doing its part to further recognize the real estate dealmakers who help grow the local economy. Through our CBB we place the focus on the commercial real estate industry, both by honoring outstanding transactions and bringing together different aspects of the industry. Beginning with the latter, the event serves as a mini-trade show by connecting brokers with local service firms specializing in real estate and related industries such as architects, engineers, financing partners, etc. Attending Rockville businesses are provided tables to display their information and network with brokers that represent clients requiring their services before and after the deal is signed.
Adding a new twist in 2016, REDI is recognizing key real estate transactions through its “Rockville Dealmakers” program. Brokers are featured monthly in RED’s e-newsletter, website and social media outlets for their work to help a business grow or launch in the City.
Details for the event are still being finalized, so please check our website soon for more information.
