Start the New Year With a New Plan
December is synonymous with gift giving over the holidays, but there’s also an opportunity to reward yourself and your business by taking part in National Write a Business Plan Month. If you’ve been procrastinating opening your preferred word processing program, winter is the perfect time to sit down with a hot cup of chocolate and craft this vital document.
While there are many online guides to writing a business plan, interacting with fellow entrepreneurs and discussing the trials of starting a business has numerous benefits that can’t be achieved on your tablet. Conveniently, the Maryland Women’s Business Center provides this setting through a seminar, which is open to all genders, titled “Writing a Successful Business Plan” at our shared Rockville office. you’re looking to propel your great idea forward in 2017, there’s no better way to start than attend the January 6th program.
As a goal for 2017 consider participating in the StartRight Business Plan competition held by the MWBC. The competition was established in 2004 to encourage entrepreneurs to complete their business plans and is currently limited to Maryland businesses that are majority women owned. Entrants are eligible for cash prizes including a $5,000 grand prize, as well as valuable coaching and publicity that will have long-lasting effects on the business.
Whether you attend a formal seminar or write the plan while flying home to visit relatives, when you’re ready to take the next steps in forming your business we are here to help. Our website has a helpful guide to the key tasks a new business needs to complete in Maryland, while our staff is readily available to provide customized assistance to see what a location in Rockville can do for you.
